Muradkhanli village is located in the foothills. The settlements were formed as a result of the sedentary settlement of families belonging to the Muradkhanli community of the Tekle tribe who spent the summer in Zangazur province and winter in Karabakh in the past and were named after that community.
Two large mountain rivers pass Hakari and Bargushad through the territory of the region. The Hakari River takes its source from Kalbajar. Many mountain rivers meet it until it meets the Araz. The source of the Bargushad River originates in the mountains of Erikli. Bargushad draws its power from the Mad River, Sheki River, Takhtakorpu River, Dashli Gorge River, Bakhtiarli, and Aga rivers flowing from Mountain Springs. The Bargushad River flows into the Araz like the Hakari River. Both rivers converge near the village of Garalar in the region. Although part of the district is lowland, the main part is mountainous. Mountainous places are covered with forest cover.
