The land allocated for the construction of the Gorchu settlement is located in the north-west of the Lachin region, on the slope of the Mikhtokan Ridge.

The distance from the territory to the Regional Center is 64 km, and to Baku, it is 475 km.

The territory is located at an altitude of 1700–1900 m above sea level; its relief consists of mountains and mountainous plateaus. The climate belongs to the temperate hot and cold type with dry winters.

The average temperature in January is from -10 °C to 0 °C, and in July, it is 10–22 °C. The average annual precipitation is 600–900 mm.

Its geographical location creates very favorable conditions for living and farming.
