The land allocated for the construction of the Qorchu residential settlement is located on the slopes of the Mixtoken mountain range in the north-western part of Lachin district.

The distance from the area to the district center is 64 km, and to Baku city is 475 km.

The territory is situated at an altitude of 1,700–1,900 meters above sea level; its relief consists of mountains and mountainous plateaus. The climate belongs to the type with mild, warm summers and cold, dry winters.

The average temperature ranges from −10°C to 0°C in January and from 10°C to 22°C in July. The average annual precipitation is 600–900 mm.

Its geographical location creates very favorable conditions for settlement and economic activity.
