More than 16,000 Jews live in Azerbaijan, and 11,000 of them are mountain Jews. The Red Village in Guba is a place where mountain Jews live compactly. Besides preserving their traditions and cultural values, they actively participate in the political, economic, and cultural life of Azerbaijan.
The design works for the "Jewish Religious and Cultural Center" building of the Religious Community of Baku Mountain Jews have begun on Suleyman Rahimov Street, Nasimi District, Baku. The building will be modern in style and will have elements of a synagogue, which is a Jewish religious temple.
The planned area is 0.05 hectares, and the construction of a 3 storey "Jewish Religious and Cultural Center" building is planned in the area.
